Making cars fast the proper way... not using peoples opinions and feelings on how to do "upgrades". We have a shop, dyno, CNC equipment, spray booth for powder coat and commercial coating oven... because that's how its suppose to be done. Been doing it since 2004, will continue to do it this way (the right way) until someone can prove to me that its the wrong way that I am doing it.
We do what works, and has been proven to work both on and off the race track. I have seen many a competitor leave the respective markets that we support. I have seen many a vendor show up, and then walk away with $1000's if not $10's of thousands in the communities hard earned money. I have a shop, I have 40,000 lbs of equipment and enough inventory to fill a 58ft semi truck... I have no intentions of "scamming" anyone out of there money. The cost to pack up and walk away, would be 10 times what anyone has spent in my shop.

HKS and NGK Race Plugs Differences
I cannot believe I have to continue making video's like this. I am doing everything I can to address the constant incoming miss-information. I can only do so much as one person can :)
Current rumor is that the HKS M45XL is not optimal, why... I have no idea but, lets put that to rest!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments.
Thank you.

So :) I have been testing different modifications to the factory fuel pump and at this point the current modifications are working well! I am close to having a finalized product for the masses. This is two years of work, testing and verifying that these few modifications paired up with a new fuel line should allow full E85 tuning capability to around 450-460 wheel horsepower. No and you don't need more fuel with your Forte, the factory fuel pump supports E85 and big turbo applications with no issues.
@@TorkMotorsports oh really. Full e85?

Is it possible to raise the shift point limit to just before the 7k redline? Is possible to raise the speed governor to allow a Kia soul to complete a 1/2 mile track event?
Hi John. Thanks for the video. For those of us not as knowledgeable as you - could you briefly explain how that difference in resistance affects the plug and engine performance?
Less resistance means that more of the spark energy can make it to the tip of the spark plug. The more spark you get to your plug, the bigger the boom you get in the combustion chamber. Is this what you were looking for or did you want more technical?
@@TorkMotorsports That is perfect! Thank you.
I do appreciate the information and being able to see the difference, but shoot a little bit more ceramic isn’t worth 2.5x the price on a plug that should be changed every 40k miles. Not being rude but sheesh, 40$ a plug is wild. On a side note, I’d like to know your opinion on NGK iridium vs Ruthenium. Seems ngk is the only producer of ruthenium plugs and they have all their claims, hard to know what’s hogwash and what’s real. Are they sufficient compared to OEM Hyundai iridium’s? Can get them through my parts department with discount for like 8$ so considering swapping all my vehicles to ruthenium. Thank you
Vs what? A plug failure could cost you an $8000 engine? Best case its only damages the exhaust valve and turbo which would cost you $4000? I am not being rude either, but at what point do you start measuring the cost of the potential failure vs that of the spark plug. I run NGK race plugs in all my 1.6T applications/personal cars. At $110 per plug, I justify it because it will never cause an engine failure.
@@TorkMotorsports I don’t foresee plug failure from NGK as they’re one of the top brands in the market. Any plug can fail. But it’s not like we are talking about autolites or champions. Have you tried out ruthenium’s on any vehicle?
I can't find this kit in the website can you post the link?
Sadly we no longer make this kit.
That's gotta be john!! Awesome brother
Thank you.
Does the tune add pops and bangs
We can add pops and bangs if needed.
What catch cans are those ?
I have not idea, sorry.
Lol, 6 years later John recommended full cat deletes to me when I asked him if it's worth deleting my primary cats. Of course, now he has a tune that stops the over-boost code. I have Mbrp pro series that have resonators. I have the cats out now and I'm waiting for the new pipes to ship. Then I'll be taking the car to Auburn so Tork can dyno-tune it for me. Because I added a few more bolt-on mods.
Looking forward to seeing you in the shop.
Hey this is exactly the video that I wanted to see! Someone actually opening up all that nice protective layer and showing me the goods! You're sacrifice is greatly appreciated. Now....TO TUNE!
You are welcome.
I have 16 VT no tune with exhaust, intake, charge pipe, bov, & fuel line should I go for the HKS40XL
I would recommend that spark plug.
Any idea what HKS spark plugs would fit my 2008 Infiniti QX56?
I am sure that there is something that will work for your Infinity that HKS makes. I would have to see the stock Infinity plug to figure out which one would work.
you guys realize that the dimensions of that pipe in the inside are the same as the factory one? only difference is the exterior, but the inside where the flow happens is the same, so think for a moment and use your head.
I did, and what I cannot explain is the 10 to 15 WHP gains every time we install one of these and put it on the dyno. Don't get me wrong, it shouldn't make any additional HP or TQ on the dyno... literally lost a bet because of this part. I bet lunch to the shop guys that it wouldn't make any difference. It did, so I told the shop guys take the car home, let the ECU adapt and bring it back tomorrow. Sure as shit, it still made the same power. So, with it sitting on the dyno, we swapped back to the stock pipe... and sure as shit it lost power. So, I did use my head but the $50k piece of equipment that measures the power output of parts that get installed told me that my head was wrong.
Okay but what exhaust is this

I have a veloster nav and I would like to know if I have to change the pistons when installing the factory turbo system?
You minus we’ll just trade the nav for a 2016 turbo don’t go under 2015 for the simple fact 2013. And 14 are known for blowing up will save you extra money
Yes, pistons will be needed. However, doing a full swap on a NAV will be more than buying a VT used.
Nice! Just purchased a 2024 Palisade XRT. Thinking about getting this over the Borla. Any drone?
ZERO drone. I don't think that Borla is making the Palisade exhaust anymore.
I have a honda civic fd2.0 and been really wondering if i can put in a hks spark plug into it , running stock with k20z2 engine . No one has clear answer if its better to use spark plug like hks for more performance. Without tuning
I would have to see the Honda stock plug to figure out an HKS replacement.
Makes me feel good that I just put in a set of HKS M40XL in my 2020 Veloster Turbo. Not tuned or anything, so I didn't go with the 45's.
Great video! Keep up the good work!
Thank you.
Dude! Watched your video, went out and removed that filter on my 2019 Kona ultimate and sure enough, solved my stop-n-go idle stumbling. Also improved my stop n go performance, i usually have to flutter the gas pedal to overcome the lag. Looking at a upgrading the fuel pump eventually here to a performance model. Thank you, sincerely, for breaking this down.
Thank you for the feed back.
Will this work on elantra base model?
Sadly, this is only for the turbo model engines.
Great video, great content, don't worry about people that don't understand that.
Thank you... and the people, meh. Eventually people will figure out that I know a thing or two about cars :)
What would happen if you would do that to a V6 Hyundai? That's not turbo.
It wouldn't hurt and might even help with getting a little bit of performance from the fuel delivery.
@TorkMotorsports so pretty much I have a 3.3 gdi with a high pressure fuel pump. And it's a guarantee that my fuel pump has that filter right.?

I looooooove my NGK race plug. Holy cow is it expensive but it’s great and it drives perfectly fine as a daily, pretty amazing. DCP plugs would be better for more street driving or the HKS but they didn’t make a plug for the multiair when I looked.
Umm. Everything you have said about plugs is right up to the latest formula 1 knowledge on plugs thus far. But you and I already know (way too much) about plugs lol.
HKS does make a plug for the MA, I have to find the part number. You are running a NGK race plug on the Fiat? Can I get you to send me that part number?
What width tire were you running with this kind of power to the ground?

The sound the lauch control makes is still nuts 5ish ywars later
This one fit in the 2023 KN?, i have understand that flange in this particular model changed the angle compare with 22KN and VN
Yes we have that understanding also so we are trying to figure out when exactly that change happened.
I have a 1,6 CRDI Kia Sportage (Europe). Both clutches on the DCT7 are about to be replaced. It makes kanguru hacks when acceleration in 1. gear. It's a dry clutch. I read something about somewhere, that the replacement, installing and calibrating is the most important thing on these clutches - if not aware of this, the clutches must be replaced again in about 30-60.000 km. Nice listening to someone who actually knows something about these transmissions. 👍🏼
I believe you already messaged us, we have replied on another social media outlet.
If u shift faster it will hold boost nd give u better time 1/2 4800 rpm 2/3 5300rpm 3/4 5600rpm 5/6 5600 rpms give it a try and post your time
Not with my tune. My tunes continue to climb to redline. No reason to short shift the fantastic 8 speed transmission.
Hows the veloster turbo shop car coming along?
Slowly, still waiting on a few items to get finished so we can start working on the tune.

Just run autolites. Do the same and perform just as good all iridium. Hks is just name brand.
Nope, nope and nope. Considering I have been doing this for 35 + years now. You learn a few things and Autolite and KDM cars simply do not work well together.
Not gonna lie, autolites are some of the worst plug brands out there.
@@Pseudopregnancy you have gap them properly. I ran 2 tunned cars pushing 280+ HP put about 9k miles on them 0 issues
I have been educated. My logic used to form this comment was not correct. I think it might be easier to explain this all if it was understood that the throw out bearings do not apply pressure to the clutch disk but releases the pressure from them. The diaphragm (fingers) is what applies pressure to the clutch disk. You can decrease the pressure on the clutch disk by applying some (a very little) pressure to the diaphragm when the clutch peddle is fully released. But I don’t think that can be accomplished using a ‘tune’. Regardless, you can’t add any more pressure to the clutch disk (which would give you more ‘holding power’) than what the diaphragm is designed to give. Ps. Sorry to give negative feedback (thumbs down) but the explanation is simply incorrect. -- fixed.
It can be accomplished with a tune. Both disks are loose, and the pressure plate and actuator are what control the holding pressure.
@@TorkMotorsports I stand corrected. I verified this info with MS Copilot and it confirms that the application of the engagement bearings actually does engage the gear. Thanks to you I have actually gained knowledge. So, the application pressure is limited by the size of the clutch disks (for lack of a better term) and the corresponding pressure plate, the maximum pressure the hydraulic system for said clutch, the maximum pressure the diaphragm can apply before collapsing, and the ‘tune’ of the dual clutch mechanism. Thus, the tune can only apply so much pressure to the clutch pack.
Great informative video! I'm new to the VN world. Just got mine 3 weeks ago. 21 DCT. Could that strainer be semi clogged? I'm not getting any lights and haven't checked with a scanner yet, but the car seems underpowered. I've seen other stock VN able to light up the tires and mine doesn't in any mode or condition except rain. I know the car isn't a GTR but my launch control 0-60 times are consistently in the mid 6's. Best is 6.6. I'm not sure how the previous owner treated the car so it could be that they were just running 87 gas and I need to clean some stuff up.
Yes we have seen those small strainers get small pieces of debris inside of them. They are so small that even something the size of a pencil tip, will reduce volume into the fuel pump. Those are some pretty slow 0-60 times, I would get a shop to look into it.
490 crank hp if your wheel hp is 460..... wtf? lol.
I think its more than that. 460 + 15% should be around 530 crank HP.
@@TorkMotorsports no, full stop.
From what I understand the NGK will work on stock and tuned vehicles. Will the HKS also do the same? Thanks for the informative vid!
Yes HKS can be use the same. You are welcome for the info.

this has been a very educational video and has opened my eyes about plugs. shame that HKS only make plugs for sports car and not your typical family sedan car. would love to put these on my car. but ironically, NGK made HKS plugs as well. So your point at the end was very on point.
What family sedan do you have? I bet that we can find a plug that works for you.
